When does the CompTIA Security+ 501 expire?
The 501 version of the CompTIA Security+ exam officially retired on July 31st, 2021. This means that if you plan on taking the exam at the time of reading this, you will not be able to sit for the 501 version and will need to study for the latest version (601 at the time of this writing).

If you passed the 501 before it expired, then your certification is valid for 3 years from the date you passed, at which point it then expires. There are a few ways to renew without having to take another exam, though, which are listed here.
