Our Hands-On Labs just got a major upgrade, and we can’t wait to hear your feedback. To celebrate the launch, we’re including 3 new Hands-On Labs (links below).

P.S. For now, the new experience only applies to newly added labs. Once it’s out of beta, we’ll roll it out to all of them.

Let’s take a look at what’s changed, starting with the Start Lab page.

Everything on one screen

Our prior design made it really difficult to keep all the information you need on a single screen. You had to scroll all over the place to get your credentials, access URLs, and work through the lab guide.

Now, after launching, we embed the web app you’re attacking or defending directly on the lab page, so you don’t have to juggle five different tabs unless you want to. Your tasks sit side-by-side with the environment, and you can make any of the components full screen any time you want.

Built-in diagrams

These new labs also include built-in 3D and flat diagrams, so you can see the architecture of your environment while you’re attacking, defending, or troubleshooting it. Diagrams have always received positive feedback, so we’re making them much more accessible and functional.

Embedded 3D diagrams
Embedded Flat Diagrams

Both styles are for our visual learners, where the 3D diagrams give you a spatial feel for how the environment fits together (and are just friggin’ cool if we’re being honest), while the flat diagrams are great for a cleaner, at-a-glance view.

A better learner experience and what’s coming next

This redesign is a much better learner experience, and it starts to move us off a fairly restrictive LMS onto our own platform, where we can ship updates, bug fixes, and new features significantly faster. That means more cool stuff is planned in the near future, and we’ll let you know as those get deployed!
